A 29-year-old Colorado Springs man was killed early Wednesday in a crash on Colorado 83 in El Paso County, the Colorado State Patrol said.
A 1996 Ford E-250 van was southbound on the highway about 3:40 a.m. when it drifted off the west side of the road and collided with a delineator post, the State Patrol said. The driver steered sharply to the left, which caused the van to spin around, go across the roadway, off the east side of the road and down a small embankment before it rolled as it went over a culvert.
The van came to rest on its wheels in a drainage ditch.
The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are considered factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Witnesses to the crash are being asked to contact Trooper Eric Zachareas at 544-2424.
