A motorcyclist was killed this morning following a collision that involved two pickup trucks on Sand Canyon Road at Sierra Highway in Canyon Country.
The crash prompted a four-hour closure of Sierra Highway, emergency response officials said.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released.
Fred Corral, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department, said department officials were notified of the fatality Wednesday morning.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a traffic collision involving two trucks and a motorcycle near the intersection of Sand Canyon Road and Sierra Highway shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday, CHP Sgt. Kevin Pack said.
Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department also responded to a call received at 7:02 a.m., said Fire Department Inspector Rick Flores.
“We responded to a report of an auto versus motorcycle on Sand Canyon Road and West Sierra Highway,” he said. “This was a vehicle versus motorcycle.”
Paramedics took no one to the hospital, Flores said.
The Coroner’s Department was called to the scene at 7:50 a.m.
