Helena, MT : A 67-year-old Helena man died on May, Tuesday 9th 2017
A 67-year-old Helena man died Tuesday evening from injuries suffered when his motorcycle collided with a pickup Tuesday afternoon on Canyon Ferry Road.
The man's name has not been released pending notification of family, said Lewis and Clark County Coroner Bryan Backeberg.
The man was not wearing a helmet, Montana Highway Patrol Sgt. Jay Nelson said Tuesday afternoon. After some treatment for his injuries at the scene, the man was airlifted to St. Peter's Hospital.
The crash occurred at 6584 Canyon Ferry Road at about 4:20 p.m.
The driver of the truck, a 68-year-old East Helena man, was not injured, Nelson said.
Investigators found suspected marijuana, a pot pipe, knives and a pistol in the motorcyclist's clothing. Nelson said an application for a search warrant for the Harley Davidson motorcycle was in the works.
