Torrance, CA : Hawthorne man killed in crash on 110 Freeway in Harbor Gateway on Thursday, January, 25th 2018

A man possibly driving drunk was killed Thursday in a crash on the transition road from the northbound 110 Freeway to the westbound 91 Freeway in Harbor Gateway, authorities said.

The motorist, a Hawthorne man of about 35, died at the scene of the crash, which was reported shortly after 3 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. His name was withheld pending family notification.

According to the CHP, the man’s Nissan went down an embankment.

“Alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor in this collision,” a CHP statement said.
