Lunchtime traffic might have been a problem for officers responding to a five-vehicle wreck Thursday afternoon on S.C. Highway 178, but some people in the heavy traffic lent their hands to the people in the wreck.
Jonathan Link, public information officer for Greenwood police, said emergency responders were still checking on everyone involved when he arrived, but no one appeared to have any major injuries. One person was asking to be taken to the hospital to get checked on, he said.
“We had several citizens who stopped to help,” he said, “nurses and other people who were off duty.”
