Williston, ND : A 20-year-old Stanley man died in a motorcycle crash in Mountrail County on Sunday, May 28, 2017

A 20-year-old Stanley man died just after midnight on Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash in Mountrail County.

Dylan McGinnity was riding a motorcycle north on Highway Eight about six miles south of Stanley when he lost control around a curve, according to the Highway Patrol. The motorcycle ran off the road and into a ditch. McGinnity was thrown off, and both he and the motorcycle vaulted over a field approach road, coming to rest in the ditch on the other side, police said.

A passerby called police to the scene, where McGinnity was pronounced dead. He was not wearing a helmet.
