Carolina Beach , NC :Driver taken to hospital with injures after smashed into trees under Snow's Cut Bridge and later jumped in the water on Sunday morning , April 12th 2015

A driver smashed into trees under Snow's Cut Bridge and later jumped in the water as EMS approached, according to WECT.

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office is investigating why the driver veered off the road and hit the trees early Sunday morning, according to WECT.

When EMS arrived, the driver was not in the vehicle. The driver then yelled down from the top of the bridge, “Hey, Y'all watch this!” He then jumped into the water.

WECT reported the driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
