Waterloo, IA : 1 dead in motorcycle crash near Dunkerton on Monday morning, April 10, 2017

One person is dead following a motorcycle accident Monday morning.

Identity of the deceased wasn't immediately available.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. and the intersection of Independence and Canfield Road. According to the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office, the motorcycle was headed south on Canfield when a northbound sport utility vehicle turned left in front of it.

Dunkerton fire and ambulance crews assisted at the scene.
