Hallsville,TX : Hallsvlle man, 18, dies in Harrison County wreck on January, Sunday 7th 2018
Officials are investigating after they say a Hallsville man was killed Sunday when he tried to partially exit the vehicle and stand on the running board of the pickup he was driving while it was in motion and lost his footing.
Wyatt Thomas Edwards, 18, was killed in the one-vehicle wreck on Harrison County Road 3023 east of Marshall, according to Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Jean Dark.
Dark said a preliminary investigation showed Edwards suffered a fatal head injury from impacting the roadway when he lost his footing.
Passenger Cole Robert Schultz, 19, of Hallsville was not injured in the wreck, according to Dark.
Harrison County Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Clarice Watkins pronounced Edwards dead at the scene.
Dark did not say what time troopers responded to the wreck.
