East Montpelier, VT : East Calais man injured in crash on Route 2 in East Montpelier early Wednesday, Nov 25, 2015

An East Calais man was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday after his car went off the road and rolled several times in a cornfield.

It happened on Route 2 in East Montpelier just after midnight.

Vermont State Police say Edward Bennett, 41, was not wearing a seat belt when he totaled his 2006 Ford Explorer. He was ejected from the vehicle in the crash.

Bennett is at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center being treated for his injuries.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
