Boca Raton, FL : Delray man, 26, died in fatal I-95 crash in Boca early Sunday, August 21, 2016

A 26-year-old Delray Beach man died early Sunday on Interstate 95 south of Yamato Road in Boca Raton when his vehicle crashed and he was thrown onto the pavement, Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Mark Wysocky said Sunday.

FHP identified the victim as Kevin Cledanord and said he was driving a 2009 Toyota Yaris. Cledanord was traveling southbound on I-95 when for an undetermined reason, the car veered to the left and struck a construction barrel.

Cledanord lost control and struck a crash attenuator, a type of cushion designed to lessen the impact of a crash, with the right side of his vehicle.

The victim was ejected from the vehicle into the roadway and may have been struck by another vehicle that left the scene.

A witness described the vehicle as a pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-150.
