El Paso, TX : 29-year-old motorcyclist killed in wreck near UTEP early Sunday morning, July 31, 2016

A 29-year-old motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning when he was riding near UTEP, El Paso police report.

Paul Yuen, of the 1400 block of Plaza Verde Dr., was riding west shortly after midnight along Paisano Drive near UTEP.

A Nissan Frontier, driven by Aaron Terrazas, 23, of the 7300 block of Duxbury Dr., was traveling east on Paisano and attempted to turn left onto Spur 1966.

Terrazas did not yield the right of way to Yuen and as a result, Yuen’s motorcycle collided with the right side of Terrazas’ vehicle, police said.

Yuen sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A passenger in the Frontier, 20-year-old Veronica Martinez of Long Beach, Calif., suffered minor injuries. She was taken to a hospital where she was treated and released.

The investigation into the accident continues. This is the 44th fatal accident in El Paso this year, compared with 30 at the same time last year.
