GUILFORD COUNTY, NC : Deadly hit-and-run on W Steeple Chase Rd in Guilford County on Friday, 26th April 2024

A victim has died after they were hit while walking along I-73 South in Guilford County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said that around 7:26 a.m., they had been called to a crash involving a pedestrian on I-73 S near West Steeple Chase Road. Investigators said 55-year-old Clyde Strickland, Raeford, N.C., was walking south on I-73 when a vehicle driving south hit Strickland.
