An Aurora woman was killed and five other people injured in a two-vehicle collision at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday on Route ZZ, two miles west of Marionville in Lawrence County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

One of the drivers involved, Sharon A. Brookshire, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lawrence County coroner, the patrol said.

Three passengers in her vehicle — George D. Brookshire, 60; Lincoln E. Brookshire, 6; and Lila M. Brookshire, age not available — were taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield with moderate to serious injuries, the patrol said. The driver of the second car, John A. Roper, 51, of Marionville, was taken to Mercy Hospital Springfield while his passenger, Claire M. Hull, 73, also of Marionville, was taken to Cox South. Both were listed as suffering serious injuries.

Roper's Dodge Dakota was westbound on Route ZZ and Brookshire's Toyota Sequoia was northbound on County Road 1210 when Brookshire attempted to turn left and pulled into the path of Roper's truck. The collision caused both vehicles to leave the roadway, with Roper's vehicle striking a utility pole and fence and Brookshire's vehicle overturning and hitting a fence, the patrol said.

A Wentworth resident was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 60 at the junction with Missouri Highway 97 in Barry County, the state patrol said.

Damaris M. Reed, age not available, was taken to Cox Monett Hospital, the patrol said.

Reed was a passenger in a southbound vehicle driven by Griselda M. Reed, 52, also of Wentworth, that pulled into the path of an eastbound car driven by Shawn T. Trent, 29, of Monett, the patrol said.

A Pineville man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 4:14 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 71, a mile south of Jane in McDonald County, the state patrol said.
