Council Bluffs, IA : Trooper injured in crash on I-29 on Monday, 25th February 2019

An Iowa State Patrol trooper and an Omaha man were injured in a crash that occurred on Interstate-29 north of Council Bluffs about 10 a.m. Monday.

Trooper James Bullington, 50, of Council Bluffs was parked with emergency lights activated on the northbound shoulder of I-29 just south of the 680 interchange near Loveland investigating an accident.

A northbound car driven by Aaron Schutt, 25, of Omaha moved over into the left lane and lost control on the ice-covered roadway. Schutt’s car spun across the roadway, colliding with Bullington’s cruiser.


Bullington was transported to Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs by law enforcement. Schutt was transported to an Omaha hospital by family members.
