TOWN OF JOHNSTOWN, WI : Two Janesville teens injured, taken into custody following high-speed pursuit on Wednesday, 19th October 2016
Two 15-year-old Janesville boys were taken into custody early Wednesday morning after speeding and fleeing officers at rates of over 100 mph, according to a Walworth County Sheriff's office news release and Capt. Dave Gerber.
The two boys were taken into custody at about 3:45 a.m., according to the release. They were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
At about 2:47 a.m. Wednesday morning, a Walworth County deputy saw a 2008 Nissan traveling west on County A near Count H in the town of Sugar Creek at 87 mph in a 55 mph speed limit zone, according to the release.
The Nissan increased speed and was seen "driving into a ditch and driving erratically," according to the release.
The Rock County Sheriff's Office was notified as the pursuit entered Rock County, according to the release. The pursuit was ended on County M near County KK in the town of Johnstown.
The Walworth County deputy then drove north on County M and saw the Nissan had crashed into a field in the town of Johnstown, according to Gerber and the release. The two boys were seen running from the vehicle and were taken into custody.
Charges are pending, according to the release.
