Waterboro WI : Two people were transported to Maine Medical Center Motorcycle crash Sunday night June 29th 2014.
Two people were transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland Sunday night after their motorcycle collided with a deer on Main Street (Routes 202 and 4) in Waterboro.Mark Lacourse, 63, of Waterboro, was operating his 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Main Street with Deborah Scott, 43, of Plymouth, N.H., as a passenger at about 8:44 p.m. when a deer suddenly came out of the woods and into the roadway directly into the path of the motorcycle.
Lacourse and Scott were both ejected from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries, according to Chief Deputy William King of the York County Sheriff’s Office. King said Scott was not wearing a helmet, but he did not know whether or not Lacourse was wearing one.
The deer was killed as a result of the impact with the motorcycle.The crash occurred in the area of the Alfred-Waterboro Veterinary Hospital (1251 Main Street) in Waterboro.
The York County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident scene, as did fire and rescue personnel from the Waterboro and Alfred fire departments.
The crash is being investigated by the sheriff’s office.
