Glens Falls,NY : Woman seriously hurt in Kingsbury crash on January, Thursday 18th 2018
A Fort Edward woman was seriously hurt and another woman was hospitalized after a crash on Burgoyne Avenue on Thursday night, police said.
Police said Connie Barrows, 54, of Fort Edward, was taken to Albany Medical Center via helicopter after a car in which she was a passenger rear-ended a truck near the Route 196 intersection, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. She suffered serious leg and pelvis injuries, police said.
The woman driving the vehicle Barrows was in, Nancy Wever, 61, of Fort Ann, was taken to Glens Falls Hospital with leg and chest injuries, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
Both women had to be extricated from the vehicle by Kingsbury firefighters.
Police said Wever was headed north when she rear-ended a truck stopped at a traffic light. The driver of the truck, Melanie Arno, 23, of Fort Ann, was not hurt.
Wever was ticketed for following too closely.
Sheriff's patrol officers Kyle Kolar and John LaTour, Investigator Matt Lohret and Sgt. William Holcomb investigated the crash.
