Washington Township ,NJ : 37- Years old old Bechtelsville man killed after crashing his car into tree on Monday morning ,June 8th 2015

A 67-year-old Bechtelsville man was killed Monday morning after crashing his car into a tree.

State Police said that Mauro DiLorenzo was driving south on Lenape Road in Washington Township when he lost control of his car while going around a curve. DiLorenzo hit a tree and his car flipped on to its driver’s side and slid into another tree, coming to rest in the driveway of Kauffman’s Child Care at 390 Lenape Road.

DiLorenzo was pronounced dead minutes after emergency personnel arrived at the scene, according to state police. Trooper Katherine Miller said that police have not determined why DiLorenzo lost control.

Along much of the winding, rural road, there are signs declaring a 20 M.P.H. speed limit, however, Miller said that the stretch of road where the accident occurred has no posted speed limit.

Eastern Berks Ambulance and Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene, and the Berks County Coroner’s office arrived to remove the body.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Police closed Lenape Road for nearly three hours as they cleared the scene.
