Bowling Green, KY : Man critically injured in motorcycle crash in Warren County on Tuesday morning, May 3, 2016

A Bowling Green man was critically injured in a motorcycle crash Tuesday morning.

Kentucky State Police responded to the single-vehicle wreck at 2:39 a.m. on the exit ramp from Interstate 65 southbound onto the William Natcher Parkway northbound in Warren County.

Thad Franklin, 37, of Bowling Green, was driving a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on I-65 and was exiting onto the parkway northbound when he failed to negotiate the curve and struck the guardrail, according to a news release from KSP.

Franklin was taken by medical helicopter to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, where he is listed in critical condition, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing.

Business fire — Glasgow firefighters were called to a fire Monday morning that appeared to be centered around solar panels on the roof above China King restaurant at 106 Shane Drive, according to a news release from the Glasgow Fire Department.

Firefighters, who were called at 8:14 a.m., could see flames and smoke on the roof. Firefighters went to the roof and entered adjoining businesses to look for the fire.

The fire was quickly put out and was contained to some solar panels and the roof of China King, but the damage to the roof allowed water to enter the restaurant, as well as Hibbett Sports next door. Rain during the incident also entered both business, which firefighters tried to contain with kiddie pools.

The exact cause of the fire was not determined. A complicating factor was that no one initially on scene could shut off the power from the solar panels. That was done later. China King restaurant was closed Monday as firefighters were on the scene about seven hours.
