Dodgeville,WI : Dodgeville man killed in Lafayette County crash on August, Saturday 26th 2017

According to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office, a 72-year-old Dodgeville man was killed in a crash in STH78 on Saturday afternoon.

The Sheriff's Department reports on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 1:41pm, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two vehicle head-on motor vehicle crash on STH 78 just south of the intersection of Hillcrest Road, in Argyle Township. It was reported that both vehicles involved entrapment of the drivers. Lafayette County Sheriff’s Deputies were immediately dispatched, and the Argyle Fire Department and Argyle EMS were paged to the scene. Blanchardville EMS was also paged to the scene.

The investigation of the crash determined that Patrick B. Calhoun,72, of rural Dodgeville, WI, was traveling southbound on STH 78 in a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, when he was struck head-on by a northbound Dodge Dakota pickup driven by Mary E.Bernet, 34, of Argyle, WI. Bernet’s vehicle appeared to have crossed the center line and was traveling in the southbound lane.
