Durham, N.C : Passenger killed, several injured in a two-car crash in Durham on Sunday night, April 9, 2017

One person was killed following a two-car crash Sunday night in Durham.

Durham police said the crash occurred in the 1100 block of East Gear Street just after 9:30 p.m.

A passenger in one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene and other passengers in the car were hospitalized with injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle was also taken to a local hospital for treatment.

East Gear Street was closed from Cheek Road to Essex Road while authorities investigated the crash.
