Bel Marin Keys, CA : Novato driver dies in Bel Marin Keys canal crash on Sunday, 1st November, 2020

A 25-year-old Novato man died after crashing into the water in Bel Marin Keys, authorities said.

The coroner’s division of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as Kunal Vinay Pradhan. The cause and manner of death are pending post-mortem examination and toxicology testing scheduled for this week.The crash was reported at 8:47 p.m. Sunday at the end of Bel Marin Keys Boulevard, the coroner’s office said. Witnesses reported that a speeding driver in a Honda Civic went off the road and crashed into a canal of the lagoon that leads to San Pablo Bay.

A dive team removed Pradhan from the submerged car. He was pronounced dead at the scene without resuscitative aid, the coroner’s office said.
