SPRINGFIELD, TN : Driver taken into custody after crashing into pond in Springfield on Sunday, 10th March 2024

Multiple agencies responded to a crash involving a car in a pond in Springfield Sunday night.

According to Smokey Barn News, officers with the Springfield Police Department were called to a crash on Industrial Drive just after 10 p.m. on Sunday. They arrived to find a white sedan in the Electrolux rainwater retention pond near Bill Jones Industrial Drive.

Officers told SBN the driver left the road and traveled down an embankment, crashing through a fence before it slid into the retention pond.

No injuries were reported but the driver was taken into custody, according to SBN.
