LUBBOCK, TX : Lubbock-Cooper mourning the loss of athletic trainer killed in crash on Monday, 7th November 2016

Additional counselors and administrators at Lubbock-Cooper High School to help students and staff deal with the death of an educator.

Brooke Parker, 25, a district-wide athletic trainer, was killed in a head-on crash on the Marsha Sharp Freeway Monday night.

Police report Louis Marquez, 36, was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes.

Officers were responding to reports of a wrongway driver, and were trying to find and stop the vehicle when it hit Parker's SUV.

Both Marquez and Parker died at the scene.

Police don't know yet where Marquez entered the westbound lanes.
