Cabarrus County, N.C : I-85 closed after deadly crash in Cabarrus County early Thursday morning on June 12, 2014

Emergency crews have the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 near Concord shut down as they investigate a deadly crash involving a pedestrian early Thursday morning.

Troopers told Channel 9 that the wreck happened around 5:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-85 near mile marker 55, close to Highway 73.

Police were diverting traffic off of the interstate while they investigated the crash.
