Talladega, AL : Man driving truck injured in collision with motorcycle on Friday afternoon, May 13, 2016

An accident Friday afternoon that killed a motorcycle rider also injured the driver of a truck involved in the wreck, according to Talladega police.

John Player, 72, of Talladega, was airlifted to Birmingham for injuries sustained in the accident. The driver of the motorcycle, Clay Holmes, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Information on Player’s condition was not available Monday or Tuesday.

According to Talladega Police Capt. John McCoy, Holmes’ vehicle was headed north on Alabama 21 when the motorcycle struck the passenger side of Player’s truck. Player was driving on the 275 Bypass at the time.
