Gadsden ,AL : 4-car crash results in DUI charge for Southside woman on Wednesday night ,June 17th 2015

A Southside woman has been arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a four-car crash.

The Gadsden Times (http://bit.ly/1JZ5zrp ) reports a 52-year-old woman caused the accident Wednesday night at the eastbound ramp from Albert Rains Boulevard onto Meighan Boulevard. Police say the woman never slowed down as she approached vehicles stopped at a red light in the northbound lane. The Toyota 4-Runner she was driving hit a Ford vehicle and knocked it into the median. The 4-Runner kept going and hit a Toyota Tacoma, causing the vehicle to hit a Lincoln Town Car in the rear, then cross the median and the southbound lanes. The Tacoma driver suffered serious injuries.

The woman's name has not been released. It is unclear if she has a lawyer.
