Fort Collins,CO : Old Town accident sends motorcyclist to hospital with injuries on July, Saturday 15th 2017

A motorcycle-versus-car accident in north Fort Collins sent a man to the hospital on Saturday.

The driver of a Mercedes, 32-year-old Fort Collins resident Daniel Carrico, reportedly collided with a man on a motorcycle who was not wearing a helmet at an Old Town intersection.

The intersection of Linden Street and Linden Center Drive was reportedly closed for about three hours as police investigated the accident, a press release said.

The Mercedes driver reportedly hit motorcyclist James Burnfield, 47, of Fort Collins, who was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies for medical treatment.

Police do not suspect that alcohol nor speed contributed to the crash. Formal charges regarding the incident are pending.
