OREM, UT : Trooper identified after sustaining serious injuries in fatal crash with wrong-way driver on Sunday, 17th December 2023

A Utah Highway Patrol trooper has been identified after he was seriously injured in a fatal crash with a wrong-way driver in Orem.

Trooper Carlos Rios-Redd responded at approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday after a report that a driver was traveling north on southbound I-15.

Officials said a head-on collision occurred between the trooper and suspect vehicle as Redd was attempting to stop her.
