CHARLOTTE, NC : 9-vehicle crash reported in west Charlotte on Wednesday, 25th September 2024

A serious crash shut down the inbound lanes of Wilkinson Boulevard at Old Dowd Road on Wednesday morning.
According to Medic, the crash happened at Wilkinson Boulevard and Old Dowd Road. At least eight people were hurt and nine vehicles were involved.
The NC Department of Transportation’s online map shows backups extending into Gaston County.
To get around, drivers can use Moores Chapel Road to get to Interstate 85.
