Auburn, NY : Victim named in fatal multiple vehicle crash on Route 20 in Sennett on Wednesday, February 15th 2017
One person was killed and three others were injured in a crash on Route 20 in the town of Sennett Wednesday morning.
New York State Police said four vehicles were involved in the crash at around 8 a.m. Wednesday on East Genesee Street Road at the intersection of Quincy Hill Drive. The accident shut down a portion of Route 20 for several hours while state police reconstructed the scene.
Auburn Fire Chief Joseph Morabito said there were several patients, some with serious injuries, who received treatment. State police confirmed that three people were transported to area hospitals.
Media reports indicated that 30-year-old Auburn man Joseph S. Raymond died in the crash, while a passenger in Raymond's vehicle — 29-year-old Auburn woman Ashley M. Hester — was critically injured.
State police told Syracuse.com that Raymond lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the path of a Honda CRV driven by 45-year-old Lisa M. Weiss, of Skaneateles. Raymond's vehicle continued after the collision and struck a pickup truck driven by 52-year-old Skaneateles woman Barbara L. Brillo.
A fourth vehicle, driven by 31-year-old Marcellus woman Jennifer M. Wall, veered into a ditch to avoid the crash, according to media reports. Weiss, Brillo and Wall were taken to area hospitals where they were treated and released.
