Pisek, N.D : Grafton man killed after vehicle strikes trees near Pisek on Thursday morning, March 9, 2017

A 25-year-old Grafton, N.D., man was killed in a one-vehicle crash Thursday morning, March 9, near Pisek, N.D., according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at about 7 a.m. about 7 miles east of Pisek on 62nd Street Northeast in Walsh County. The patrol did not release the victim’s name.

The driver of a 2014 GMC Sierra was traveling eastbound on 62nd Street Northeast when he lost control of the pickup, which exited the roadway and struck trees in a shelterbelt adjacent to the roadway. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was unknown if the driver was wearing a seat belt.

The Walsh County Sheriff’s Department and the Minto Fire Department also responded to the scene.

The patrol is investigating the crash.
