Four people suffered moderate injuries when an Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority bus collided with a pickup truck Friday afternoon at the intersection of East 25th and Perry streets in Erie, police said.

A man, woman and girl in the pickup truck, and a woman who was driving the bus were taken to Saint Vincent Hospital for treatment, police said. Two passengers on the bus were uninjured.

The crash was reported at 4:35 p.m.

Police said the bus was westbound on East 25th Street and the pickup was northbound on Perry Street when the pickup driver failed to yield at the intersection. The EMTA bus struck the pickup on its passenger side and pushed the truck into a wooden utility pole on the north side of East 25th Street.

The pole partially broke about 4 feet from its base. Penelec crews were summoned to assess damage.
