Baton Rouge, LA : LSU professor among eight injured after three-vehicle crash in Central; one driver dead on Saturday, February 4th 2017

An LSU adjunct professor was one of eight people injured in a crash that also killed an unidentified driver in Central late Saturday.

Sherwin Shaidaee, who teaches in LSU's Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences in the E.J. Ourso College of Business, suffered minor injuries in the crash, said Ernie Ballard, a spokesman for the university.

State Police identified Shaidaee as the driver of the BMW, which was sideswiped by a Ford F-150 that crossed over the center line. The truck then collided head-on with a Ford Explorer with seven people inside.

The driver of the truck, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
