Peoria, IL : 32-year-old man died in single-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 29 on Wednesday 5 October 2016

A 32-year-old man died Tuesday night after being involved in a single-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 29.

Matthew A. Boughan, 5422 E. Main St., Chillicothe, was northbound on Route 29 about 8:30 p.m. when the pickup truck he was driving veered off the road near East Fairview Street and struck a tree, according to Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll.

Boughan was pronounced dead at 9:28 p.m. in the emergency room of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. An autopsy performed Wednesday revealed he died from multiple blunt force injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Peoria County Sheriff's Office.
