An 18-year-old Park Rapids woman sustained serious injuries following a collision Friday at the intersection of State Highway 87 and County Road 11 southeast of Park Rapids.
According to the State Patrol report, Riley M. Kimball was driving a 2000 Corolla southbound on County Road 11 when she turned east on to State Highway 87 and collided with a pickup pulling a camper traveling westbound on Highway 87.
Hubbard First Response, the State Patrol, North Memorial Ambulance and the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash which occurred just before 5 p.m. Friday. Kimball was airlifted from the scene with serious
injuries, according to the State Patrol report.
The occupants of the 2006 Dodge Ram pickup were Richard J. Elbinger, 75, and Myrtle N. Elbinger, 81, of Park Rapids. The pickup and camper rolled on Highway 87 in the collision and the Elbingers were not injured.
The report indicated Kimball failed to yield at the intersection. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by aircare to Essentia Health in Fargo. Both occupants of the pickup were wearing seatbelts.
