Crash on Interstate 70 in Washington County killed one person

An Ohio man was killed early Friday morning in a crash on Interstate 70 in Washington County.

Coroner Timothy Warco said Scott David Schuetz, 29, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died around 2:45 a.m. after had he lost control of the Honda SUV he was driving eastbound on I-70 in North Franklin about 45 minutes earlier.

The vehicle left the eastbound lane, traveled over the embankment on the medial strip, and landed in the westbound lanes. Mr. Schuetz was ejected from the vehicle, which flipped on impact, Pennsylvania State Police said. He was not wearing a seatbelt, police said.

State police are investigating the crash.
