Irvine , CA :Toddler dies 4 days after hit-and-run crash in Irvine on Sunday , June 14th 2015

A 2-year-old girl has died from injuries sustained during a hit-and-run crash in Irvine four days earlier.Orange County coroner's officials said Kaydence Hampton of Lake Forest died at a hospital Sunday afternoon.The toddler was in a car Wednesday with her grandmother, mother and 7-year-old brother when their Chevy Cruz was struck by a Ford Mustang.The girl's grandmother was pronounced dead at the scene. Her mother and brother remained hospitalized in stable condition.The driver of the Mustang -- 20-year-old Alec Abraham of Costa Mesa -- ran away, triggering an extensive search of the area. Police found him the next day at a Costa Mesa park.The Orange County Register reports (http://bit.ly/1MCNxsp) police are investigating the possibility that street racing led to the collision.
