Danbury,CT : Car crash leads Danbury police to investigate identify theft case on December, Saturday 2nd 2017
Three people were charged Saturday after police found stolen items, drugs, other people’s identifications in a car they crashed.
Three suspects fled after their car rolled over on Old Newtown Road around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Lt. Joseph LeRose said.
Police found three people in the nearby Burger King parking who declined to say whether they were involved in the crash.
Police then charged Danbury resident Josiah Humphrey, 26, with leaving the scene of the crash, LeRose said.
Officers then searched the car and found duffel bags with a laptop, electronic credit card scanner, and the names, personal addresses, social security card numbers, checkbooks and identifications of other people. Officers also found items that had been reported stolen to the Bethel Police Department, LeRose said.
