WILTON, CT : Weston woman charged with DUI in accident involving child on Saturday, March 4th 2017
A Weston woman is accused of driving while intoxicated and crashing her car into a rock with her 6-year-old relative in tow.
A concerned driver called police around 10 p.m. Saturday evening to report a one-car accident in which a Volvo drove off the roadway near the intersection of Sturges Ridge and Cedar roads before crashing into a rock.
According to police, the caller stated that the driver had been operating erratically, stopping randomly in the middle of the road and then later running a stop sign. The caller also reported that she believed the accident to be a result of a medical issue, police said.
After arriving at the scene, police found neither the driver nor the sole occupant of the vehicle to be injured. Responding officers did, however, notice an air of alcohol about Hilary Flora, 58, who had been driving the vehicle.
Police arrested Flora on the suspicion of drunken driving. Back at headquarters, Flora submitted to a breath test that revealed a blood alcohol content of .2769.
