WILSONVILLE, OR : Troopers looking for man after I-5 chase on Thursday, August 17, 2017
Oregon State Police are looking for a 22-year-old man from Washington wanted for leading police on a chase early Thursday morning.
Troopers were sent out to a possible public indecency incident at a rest area just south of Wilsonville around 3 a.m. When they arrived, a woman exited a Mitsubishi Eclipse and a man scooted into the driver's seat. The woman got back into the car, and the driver, who has been identified as 22-year-old Joshua R. Blackwood of Shoreline, Wash. led troopers on a chase.
About 10 minutes later, he crashed his car on Interstate 5 southbound near milepost 276. Both Blackwood, and his likely girlfriend who has been identified as 21-year-old Ashley M. Cochrane, fled the car.
Cochrane was detained shortly after, but troopers are still looking for Blackwood. If you spot him, you're asked to NOT approach him, and simply call 911.
He has a tattoo of the Seattle skyline on his right forearm and a tattoo of the word "family" on the left side of his neck under his ear.
Blackwood has warrants out for his arrest in Washington, but they're not serviceable in Oregon, OSP officials said. He spent "several months" on Washington's Most Wanted list.
