Montgomery, VT : Richford man charged with DUI after leaving scene of crash on Monday, January 19, 2015

A Richford man is accused of driving drunk, crashing his car, and then taking off.

Vermont state police say just before midnight Monday, Nicholas Sherrer, 22, was driving on Fuller Bridge Road in Montgomery. They say he crashed through a wooden fence into a large tree and then left the scene.

Troopers say they conducted a traffic stop in Richford in connection with the crash and found Sherrer riding in someone else's car.

He now faces several charges including DUI and driving with a suspended license.
