Seattle, WA : Hit-and-run driver sought in I-5 truck crash on Monday May 12th 2014.
Washington State Patrol is now looking for a hit-and-run driver responsible for a dump truck crash on I-5 Monday morning that blocked the southbound lanes and spilled diesel fuel and gravel on the roadway.
Troopers say a Volvo cut in front of a dump truck in the southbound lanes near King Street. The truck slammed into the jersey barrier, then flipped over and caught on fire.
The driver of the Volvo fled the scene.
The driver of the truck managed to get out of the cab before the fire spread. He ended up with a broken arm, but he's expected to be okay.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and manged to quickly put out the fire.
Nearly lanes were shut down for a couple of hours and traffic was backed up several miles. Drivers were forced to take alternate routes.
