Grand Junction, CO : A 25-year-old Paonia man died in a rollover crash on Wednesday, September 13, 2017

A 25-year-old Paonia man died in a rollover crash Wednesday on Colorado Highway 133.

Casey Gillenwater was declared dead on the scene after the 1996 Ford dump truck he was driving veered off the right side of the road and rolled, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

Colorado State Patrol trooper Josh Lewis said Gillenwater was driving down the roadway when he swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting two other vehicles that had stopped in the roadway, trying to turn into a private driveway.

Gillenwater was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Alcohol, drugs or excessive speed are not considered factors in the crash, Lewis said.
