BERRIEN SPRINGS, MI : Police reveal driver involved in fatal motorcycle crash on April, Saturday 22nd 2017

Police have released the name of a man who was driving a car that collided with two people on a motorcycle Saturday, killing them both.
Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police Chief Paul Toliver said the driver of the car has been identified as Charles Habenicht, 80, of Buchanan.
Dead at the scene of the crash were David Allen Cox, 46; and Christine Marie Cox, 45, both of Granger, Ind.
It happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Shawnee Road and Garr Road in Oronoko Township.
Toliver said the motorcycle was traveling east on Shawnee Road approaching the Garr Road intersection when the driver of the car, which was traveling west on Shawnee, attempted to turn left onto Garr Road, colliding with the motorcycle.
Habenicht was not injured, police said. Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police were assisted at the scene by the Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Fire Department, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit and Medic 1.
The crash remains under investigation. Toliver said once the investigation and report are complete, the report will be sent to the Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office for review, as is the case with any fatal crash.
