Lyons Township, WI : 25-year-old Earl J. Finke died in a single-vehicle crash in Walworth County early Thursday morning, March 19, 2015

Walworth County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a fatal traffic crash on South Road in Lyons Township early Thursday morning, March 19th.

It happened approximately 1/2 mile north of State Hwy 50.

Upon arrival, deputies found a gray pickup truck crashed into a tree. The driver and sole occupant, 25-year-old Earl Finke from Spring Prairie Township, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The initial investigation indicates that Finke was southbound on South Road, entering the curves north of Hwy 50, when he lost control of his pickup, slid sideways off the east side of the road, and struck a tree. Finke was not wearing his seatbelt.

Supporting agencies who responded to this scene include Lyons Fire & Rescue, Paratech Ambulance, and the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Crash Investigation Unit is ongoing and future press releases may be issued if and when warranted.
