Leesburg, FL : Two people injured after Leesburg crash on Tuesday night, July 26, 2016
Two motorists were airlifted to the hospital Tuesday night following a crash outside Leesburg that re-routed traffic for more than three hours.
Leesburg police Lt. Joe Iozzi said it was a serious crash, but neither Andres Ybarra, 18, of Eustis, nor Lakin Watson, 29, of Crystal River, sustained life-threatening injuries.
The crash occurred about 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of Second Street and State Road 44.
Iozzi said Ybarra was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt south on Second Street. Watson was in a 2005 Dodge 2500 pickup truck traveling west on SR 44, and they collided.
Charges were pending Wednesday morning.
