Woman reunites with cab driver she says saved her life

A Louisville woman credits a cab driver for helping her survive a car crash two weeks ago.Margaret Ann Underwood wrote a letter to WAVE 3, hoping to be reunited with a cab driver who was the first to respond when her car was rear ended and forced on its side. The driver contacted WAVE 3 and the two were able to be reunited face to face

It was an instant connection for two people who now share a bond that will be hard to erase.Underwood got to meet the man she calls her guardian angel, Abdoulaye Ndiaye. On November 12, Ndiaye was in his yellow cab when he witnessed a terrible car accident near Breckenridge Lane and Dutchmans Lane.Underwood's car was flipped on its side.

"I was in the third lane on the left, but everybody drove away, not one of them stopped," said Ndiaye. "I said this isn't right."
Even in the drizzling rain Ndiaye says he knew he had to help."I tried to climb, but it was raining," said Ndiaye. "My tennis shoes were not allowing me, so I took off my tennis shoes. I opened your door and jumped inside the car to hold up your head."Underwood was trapped inside, her seat belt locking her in place. "Every few minutes he would say Margaret Ann are you alright," said Underwood.

Ndiaye stayed holding her head until emergency crews arrived. She had thought his name was Bob.
"My name is not Bob," laughed Ndiaye.
