A 52-year-old Houma man was killed this morning in a single-vehicle crash on a local highway, State Police said.
According to Trooper First Class Jesse LaGrange, Ricky Bergeron was pronounced dead at the scene by the Terrebonne Coroner’s Office shortly after 5:30 a.m. after the 2002 Dodge Durango he was driving on La. 182 near Sugar Ridge Drive struck a tree.
Bergeron was traveling east on La. 182 and for reasons still under investigation crossed the center line and ran off of the roadway to the left before striking the tree, LaGrange said.
